• DEFINITION - noun

     -a journey especially when undertaken to escape from a dangerous or undesirable situation : exodus

     I use the Webster Word of the Day and this one came up.  Seems all too appropriate.

     We received the date for all the tests.  They are going to wrap them up all in one day.  We are going to go on about our way with our everyday duties, chores, socializing or whatever one may call these busy lives.  We aren't worried.

     We have already had so many to send us notes of encouragement, calls for concern, etc.  This is just a preventive measures since new spots have appeared.  We are thankful for the every six month checkups even though they are a hassle for him at times.  He hates to take off work.

     Since he is lurking over me as I type this, I'm assuming he is needing my presence in front of the television.  He doesn't know I started the blog back up.  I suppose I should confess.

     Today ChemoSabe began his first IV of Carfilzomib.  I have only spoken to him by phone this morning, but he let me know right quick that the nurses blew at least five veins.  He has so much scar tissue in his arms from previous needles.  This doesn't need to reach his ears, but I believe they may put a port in if this problem keeps up. 

     We had a good weekend with a ride to Hot Springs through Paron on Saturday.  We walked down Bath House Row for awhile and even took a few minutes to sit on a park bench.  I saw a HSPD bicycle cop riding past us and when he got closer I asked him if his bike had a hemi in it.  He looked a little confused at first and then laughed and said it didn't.    Poppy never knows what will come out of my mouth.

     We drove up to Heber Springs Sunday to see Danae and Tony.  We even took Pete along for the ride and he really impressed us with his maturity.  We stopped by Drasco Trading Post and looked at some new bags.  When I put one on the floor, Pete jumped into it.  I suppose he thinks we were looking for a bike bag for him.  Never know!

     I don't really have a lot to say on this day.  I wanted to experiment with the blog page since I couldn't get it up and running last week.  We'll see how this one works.

Solitude -- Word for the Day -- Sunday, March 16, 2014

Solitude: a state or situation in which you are alone usually because you want to be. 

I haven't posted since September 2010.  My how time flies when we are having fun.  Haven't had a worry in the world except for the regular daily happenings.  So, here we come now with new results that have just occured since September 2013.  We are prepared. 

I believe we shared solitude this weekend even though we had Big E.  It was refreshing to the three of us to just do nothing, yet get out and run the stores. 

Solitude -- because we are in a state of 'unknown'.  We don't have schedules, we don't know what these four tests are looking for.  We believe we know, but we just want to discuss it together.  We are not concerned.  We are not overwhelmed.  But, we are ready to find out the extent and the prevention.

So, here we begin our journey again.  You will learn more about the cancer, the treatments and how we handle them.  Please feel free to rummage through the history on this blog and you'll be surprise what you will learn to catch you up to speed, thus far.
